Thaipusam Day Celebration in Malaysia
Thaipusam Day is known as one of the biggest seasonal festivals in Malaysia which is celebrated by the Hindus during the full moon in the tenth month of the Hindu celendar. Thaipusam is actually dedicated as a thanksgiving to Lord Subramaniam or Murugan for answering their prayers and as a day of penance.During this festival, we can see parades and rituals are held with the devotees performing ceremonial acts such as carrying the ornamental structures or kavadi. Most of us would associate it with massive crowds at the temples and the sighting of amazing awe-inspiring by the kavadi bearers, but more importantly it is actually a celebration of faith and gratitude.
