Reported from various sources, Apple is expected to hold the launch event for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 8 or 9, 2026. This schedule aligns with the company’s tradition of consistently introducing its latest iPhone lineup in early September each year. Predictions from industry analysts suggest that Apple will likely maintain its autumn launch pattern.

If there’s no changes, the two Pro models will be the first devices introduced. With the other iPhone variants following according to the company’s release schedule. If this schedule holds, pre-orders will likely open on September 11, while initial sales would begin on September 18, 2026.

Recent reports suggest that Apple may launch its first foldable device. Tentatively dubbed the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. This strategy is seen as a major move by Apple to strengthen its position in the global premium segment.

iPhone 18 Design Rumors

While Apple often keeps its signature design language, the iPhone 18 could introduce subtle refinements rather than a complete redesign.

Current rumors suggest:

  • Slimmer bezels for a more immersive display.
  • Improved durability with stronger materials.
  • Refined camera housing.
  • New color options.
  • Possible enhancements to the Dynamic Island experience.

Some reports also hint at Apple continuing to reduce visible display cutouts while improving the overall screen-to-body ratio on Pro models. However, these changes remain unconfirmed.

Expected Performance

Apple is rumored to equip the iPhone 18 with an unusual amount of RAM, specifically, 9 GB. This information comes from prominent market analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for accurately predicting Apple’s moves. By comparison, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e are equipped with only 8 GB of RAM, meaning this latest generation sees an increase of 1 GB. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to retain 12 GB of RAM, matching the previous series.

A RAM capacity of 9 GB is quite rare in the smartphone market. Manufacturers typically offer capacities in even multiples, such as 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB. If this rumor holds true, the iPhone 18 will be among the first to feature this RAM configuration. According to Kuo, the 9 GB RAM capacity stems from the use of a different memory chip configuration. The A20 chip in the iPhone 18 will utilize a configuration of six 1.5 GB dies. This differs from the A19 chip, which uses four 2 GB dies, resulting in a total capacity of 9 GB.

iPhone 18 Features Rumors

The iPhone 18 is expected to deliver faster performance with Apple’s next-generation A20 chip, enhanced AI-powered features, and improved battery efficiency. Rumors also suggest upgraded cameras with better low-light photography and smarter image processing, along with a refined design featuring slimmer bezels and new color options.

Apple may further enhance the display experience through updates to the Dynamic Island, while on-device AI could bring a smarter Siri, advanced writing tools, and more intelligent photo editing. Although none of these features have been officially confirmed, they point to an iPhone focused on performance, artificial intelligence, and an improved everyday user experience.

How about the Pricing?

Apple has not announced pricing for the iPhone 18, but several analysts believe prices could increase due to rising component costs. Industry estimates suggest:

  • iPhone 18: Starting around $899–$999
  • iPhone 18 Pro: Potentially starting around $1,299
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max: Higher depending on storage configuration

These estimates remain speculative until Apple officially announces the lineup.

With various leaks circulating, the public is becoming increasingly curious about the iPhone 18. Will Apple really introduce 9 GB of RAM? We’ll just have to wait for the official announcement!
