1. First and foremost, please give a brief introduction of yourself.

Hi, I am Faraheeyya. I was born on 17th May 1999 and my zodiac sign is Taurus. I just finished my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Information System at Universiti Utara Malaysia. I have started modelling part-time for the past two years and currently become a full-time model.

2. We realized that you are a hijabi model. Please share with us how your modelling journey started.

A long time ago in 2017 (after finishing SPM), I was once helping my English teacher with her Raya Collection of her own hijab brand. She asks me and my friends me to be her model for a Facebook advertisement. I believe that was my first experience with modelling and since then, I was interested in this field. Years after, during MCO, while I am still in 3rd semester of my degree, I created a lot of fashion content including hijab tutorials to be posted on my Instagram. After all the hard work, I was offered by a small business brand to shoot their new hijab collection. I wasn’t hesitant to accept the job and create good networking with the brand owner, studio owner, photographer, and makeup artist. Since then, more brands started to notice my existence and I received quite a number of job offers.

3. You look stunning in every outfit you have on. Share with us who is/are your fashion inspirations.

Really appreciate that! Back then, I never thought that hijabi can also be fashionable until I know Yuna. She is such an inspiration for me in so many aspects including her fashion, career, and educational background. Besides Yuna, I do a lot of research on Google and Pinterest to get outfit inspiration before I decide to wear anything for a certain event or activity. However, I believe that fashion should be aligned with your personality. To bring out your real self, you must love what you wear and for me, being comfortable is the most important thing.

4. In three words, describe to us your sense of style.

Comfy, Matchy, and Sassy.

5. What is your go-to outfit if you are in a rush?

Pinless turban, knitted long-sleeve shirt, pair of jeans, and covered sandals. Still, the earring is a must for me hahaha.

6. High heels? Sneakers? Ballerina flats?

I am definitely a high heels person!

7. What is one item in your closet do you wear the most?

My denim jeans because they could never go wrong with anything.

8. What are your go-to favourite brands from ZALORA?

Zalia, Zalora Basic, Lubna, Betsy, H&M and a lot more.

9. You have flawless natural skin. Share with us your skincare regime.

I have learned that it is important to identify our skin type and condition before choosing the right skincare. After doing some skin tests, I found that my skin is dry and uneven. So, the best skin care product for me is something hydrating and brightening. I was never focusing on whitening as being a medium tan is my added value in modelling field. Keeping my skin healthy is truly hard when I have to do heavy makeup for photoshoots almost every day. One of the most important parts that I will never skip is double cleansing. Firstly, I will use micellar water for daily makeup, or oil cleanser to remove heavy makeup before I wash my face with hydrating foam cleanser. I scrub my face twice a week using a beads scrub and I also use exfoliating toner (only at night), hydrating toner, hydrating and brightening serum, moisturizer, sunscreen (during the day), and never forget Vaseline for lip care.

10. What is your go-to lipstick brand and shade?

""

For daily effortless makeup, I will use coloured lip balm from Mentholatum Lip Ice Sheer Color in code Strawberry, and the lip matte that I love the most is Ankara from Syedewa Cosmetics.

11. What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?

I am a dancer both traditional and modern. I was actively participating in cultural activities at my university and I represented Malaysia together with my university dance group at a cultural event in Thailand.

12. Who is your all-time favourite Disney character?

Forever and always, Stitch!

13. If you are stranded on an island and can only bring three things with you for survival, what would it be?

A knife, a lighter, and a sleeping bag. Well, I need good sleep/rest to survive right?

14. If you could live a day in someone’s life, who would it be and why?

I can say, Kendall Jenner. She is just a perfect description of ‘perfect’ for me. Tall, skinny, pretty, rich, and walk on the runway like a living Goddess!

15. We noticed that you are getting married soon. Please share with us how the wedding planning journey is and give us a little hint about your wedding theme.

I might or might not post a lot about my wedding, but I just got married on 9th October 2022. It was an intimate wedding held in a hall full of white flowers and glasses decorations.

16. Since we are almost to the end of 2022, were they any goals set this year that you’ve achieved and are proud of?

""

I have set some goals of targeted big brands to work or collaborate with and I actually did it. During 2022, I have worked with some big brands including Uniqlo, Siti Khadijah, Tudung Ruffle, Naelofar, Alhumaira, Hijabistahub, Leeyana Rahman, and many more.

17. What are some of the goals in mind for 2023 that you aim to achieve both professionally and personally?

""

Professionally, I want to expand my career and work with a lot of brands. I wish that my picture will appear on the billboard one day and personally, I want to travel and explore the world with my husband, family, and friends. I will work hard to achieve my goals no matter what.

18. What would you say your dream career is? And why?

I am dreaming of owning a business. I could say this is my childhood dream career until now. I want to run a café and flower shop. The main reason is that I love the aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries. Besides, as a woman, I really love flowers and I want to have a flower shop together with my mom who is obsessed with planting so we both can spend more time together.

19. What is one thing that a woman should do at least once in her life?

Self-rewards. Being a woman is hard. It’s not just hard because we bleed five days a month and moods are regulated by hormones, but it is because we have born in this society. Being a woman means our body and sexuality are somehow everyone’s business. Being a woman is hard whether you are a daughter, a sister, a mother, a friend, a wife, or even a leader. All that being said, it is undeniable that being a woman is powerful and wonderful. Therefore, a woman should reward themselves at least once in their life. It can be getting your nails done, dyeing your hair, eating expensive food, buying your dream handbag, and many more. We must and deserve to love ourselves.

20. Every woman should know how to…

Control our emotions. Each of us plays a wide range of responsibilities in our life, including providing for our families financially, being a friend and role model for kids, and taking care of our elderly family members. These responsibilities sometimes include multiple challenges and concerns. We occasionally feel overwhelmed or exhausted. Such emotions frequently show up as strong feelings. By learning how to control our emotions, we can take better care of our own well-being. This will in turn get us into a better position to support our loved ones and overcome any challenges ahead.
