On June 19, 2025, Yongin police arrested Song for driving while intoxicated, as his blood alcohol content exceeded 0.08%, warranting the cancellation of his license. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. during a drive of about 5 km in Yongin city.
Consequently, after July 27, the production team immediately removed him from the stage play Shakespeare in Love, and drama producers began cutting or editing his scenes to lessen their impact.
